Looms, Boards and Graciela

The poncho is out of the loom, now it needs all the tails weave in and the fringes added:

for the little ones, we have a blanket done on my new adjustable loom, done on figure 8 and the edge with backwards crochet and matching hat:

by the way the doggie, that she is resting on, is also made by me, a couple of years ago.

Still on search of the perfect sock for Nicky. After starting the bargain hunt at 5:00 a.m on friday, we went to Michael's and she chose the Grace, mercerized cotton. So far I have one made

it is being done on the 40 pegs, fine gauge, from Lynn; the second one is on the way, and hopefully out of the loom by the end of the day.

The pattern for the sock class got done, that will be going to the group, later on today.

That determined how my week went. You see, the sock for the class, was about my youngest daughter's size. The most picky person in the WORLD! And for once, she liked the idea of wearing something made by ME! I couldn't believe it. So it was the first sock: it is not perfect, It is too pointy! There goes the second one, and the third one, and the ...

So OK, I made a tiny pair

Then I said, maybe I should make a pair for Gum Ball, but what size? so I did one just to see if the diameter and the length was OK . Well, it wasn't.

On the search for the right one for Nicky I ended up with a pretty big one, that is the right size for my other daughter, but since I could tell it was too big, I never really finished it, it only has 2 rows of ribbing. At least now I know for sure Rebe's size.

Finally: I decided to make Nicky's on the adjustable that Bob just finished: now I can decrease after the ankle part, and they will be tighter on the calf part. One of the complaints I receive from My DD.Her words were: Come on Mom, you can do better than this.

So here they are: I thought, excuse my modesty, that they are the best pair of socks I ever made, but guess what she said: I can not wear my shoes with these! Of course without trying the shoes on!

Oh well...

The poncho is almost done, but with so many socks floating around it didn't get finish.

Looms and more looms

One never can have enough looms!

Specially when trying to make socks. Either too small or too big.

For the last couple of month, Bob have been busy making little looms, and no so small:

But this week, I wanted another size, but maybe not that one, but the next; so this is what ended up being:

But last night, I said: well I need one just like that, but half the length and I want a double decker on baby size, for Christmas. We'll see if Santa is good too me.

This pattern is for sizes 2, 4 and 6.

It is done on a reg. gauge board.

The poncho is at a little bit more than a quarter of the way.

The Diana-Renee Collection

The Diana-Renee Collections includes the patterns for the Sweater Pouch, the Hugging Sweater and matching hat on garter stitch with Debbie's Edge.

It is done on a loom or rake with 20 pegs, small gauge.

The width of the sweater is 7"; the length of the pouch from neck to bottom is 13". My guess is, that will fit a baby about 4 lbs.

This collection is offered as a free download, in the hope that many of you will make one of these items for charity.

The Mood this week is Playing! I got the adjustable rake from Lynn Markman; (was waiting for the extensions). What can I make? Here it is:

A little sweater, for a preemie.

Then I got the extensions, so started the big project:  

Adult side ways poncho for larger sizes. Then the 36 pegs, fine gauge (also from Lynn) arrived, time to get busy with the sock for the Loomclass group:

Time to play again! The little sweater got me thinking! Oh, No, that is dangerous! Here is the result:

What should it be called? Bob thinks sweater wrap. I thought sweater/sleeping bag. What you think?
